These are currencies that only exist on the internet and there is no body or government responsible for controlling, intermediating and authorizing currency issues, transfers and other operations. Who does this are the users themselves. Therefore, it is decentralized. A cryptocurrency or token in short is a digital form of money. There are many tokens of mere speculative value, without purpose or social function.
